About the Author

Krysta Jones has dedicated her career to a single, powerful mission: developing leaders and changing lives through public service. As the author of the children’s civic education book, Ella Goes to City Hall, Krysta is a tireless advocate for ensuring the next generation understands how to use their voice to impact their community.
In 2006, she founded Vote Lead Impact (formerly Virginia Leadership Institute) to increase Black political representation. Her professional journey spans the halls of Congress as a Director of Outreach and the local corridors of the Arlington County Board. A recognized expert in advocacy, Krysta has served as a lobbyist for women’s and socioeconomic issues and was named a Top Lobbyist by the National Institute on Lobbying and Ethics in 2024.
Krysta currently serves as the International Director of Programs for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Co-Chair of the Legislative and Public Affairs Committee for the Eastern Area of The Links, Incorporated. Recognized as a Woman of Vision and a Strong Woman in Virginia History, Krysta continues to build a legacy of leadership, mentoring, and civic empowerment.
